The Create Your Own Exhibition program allowed visitors to curate their own exhibitions using reproductions of artworks from Order/Reorder. This activity, situated in the museum's lobby, was designed to encourage visitors of all ages to think critically about art and its presentation. The program proved highly effective in engaging a diverse audience, from children to seniors, and stimulated discussions about curatorial choices and the meaning of art.
To engage visitors in the curatorial process and deepen their connection to the exhibition.
The program successfully engaged a broad audience with over 25,000 participants and fostered a deeper connection to the museum's exhibitions.
Hudson River Museum plans to incorporate similar interactive elements in future exhibitions to maintain high levels of visitor engagement, however, a project like this requires a dedicated staff person to monitor supplies and documentation of the various curated artworks, so factoring that staff time into plans is essential.
