About

This off-site program engaged community members in interdisciplinary storytelling and helped them relate to the stories within the Many Wests exhibition. Session leaders invited participants to celebrate the original caretakers, memory makers, and boundary breakers in their communities. Attendees heard stories from others and shared their personal perspectives on works of art in the exhibition. They were also encouraged to tell stories through an artmaking activity that used comics and zines as inspiration.

Actual Outcome

This hugely successful program invited participants to learn more about the works of art in the exhibition, the stories artists tell, and their own communities through creative group activities.

Advice Post Project

Consider offering programs where attendees are encouraged to be active participants, who add to the collective experience and bring about deeper engagement.
