About

During planned and impromptu studio visits on RIT’s campus, Nicholas Galanin talked with students about studio practices, Indigeneity and identity, and relevant topics in the history of art. Galanin participated in collodion printing classes and had conversations with Clay Patrick McBride from the band Mudhoney.

Intended Outcome

To connect graduate and undergraduate students with a contemporary Indigenous artist

Actual Outcome

Students across RIT disciplines spoke with Nicholas Galanin about myriad topics, including how to build multimedia studio practices, Indigenous histories, and contemporary art history.

Advice Post Project

Make sure students have access to an offering of this kind and consider working directly with instructors to coordinate all aspects of the program.
