About

This interdisciplinary program featured screenings of five films by renowned experimental filmmaker Sky Hopkina (Ho Chunk Nation/Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians). The screenings were followed by a moderated conversation between Sky Hopkina and Dr. Ryan Conrath, a Salisbury University professor and film programmer. The event successfully attracted and engaged new audiences, drawing visitors from further afield and local communities alike.

Intended Outcome

To expose local audiences to hard-to-access, independent films and thoughtful discussions on timely topics

Actual Outcome

The program was successful in reaching audiences and highlighting how different artistic disciplines and mediums can communicate relevant themes and ideas.

Advice Post Project

As many program attendees learned about the offering by word of mouth, consider reaching out to targeted audiences with personal invitations and paid marketing.
