About

"Art Where You Are" programs attracted new audience members of all ages to the Plains Art Museum through multiple projects: a flipbook, create-at-home kits, family fun touch tables, and "Museum Uncrated." The flipbook served as a virtual gallery checklist and included links to explore key pieces from the exhibition. The create-at-home kits were offered in both English and Spanish and were distributed to families. Two family-focused events piloted interactive activities, and "Museum Uncrated" featured talks about relevant museum topics for adult audiences.

Intended Outcome

To bring new audiences to the museum to experience works by BIPOC artists

Actual Outcome

"Art Where You Are" programs were especially successful in reaching new family audiences and creating touchpoints for museum education staff to build relationships with area families.

Advice Post Project

When wanting to attract multigenerational audiences, it is important to tailor marketing to reach each demographic.
