Kay WalkingStick
Red Fault

About

Cherokee Nation artist Kay WalkingStick is widely known for her work in and experimentation with abstract landscapes. WalkingStick used wax to emulate the thick, cracked surface of this stolen land. She then cut thin lines to reveal the underlying layer of red paint, drawing a comparison between wounds on human bodies and ruptured fractures in the earth.
