Eric-Paul Riege
jaatoh4Ye'litsoh[9-10]

About

Interlacing Diné spirituality, cultural beliefs, and personal history, artist Eric-Paul Riege crafts stories through his series of soft sculptures titled jaatłoh4Ye’iitsoh, meaning “earrings for the big god.” Earrings are particularly significant in Diné culture as representations of not only the practice of listening but also learning. Coming from a family of weavers, Riege physically manifests a legacy of knowledge, history, and memory through these monumental hanging fiber works.
