About
As a member of the Caddo Nation, Raven Halfmoon produces works that draw on ancient Caddo pottery traditions, both technically and conceptually, while exploring contemporary concerns. The work presents the challenge facing Halfmoon, an artist culturally informed by community art forms who is immersed in a consumerist society obsessed with luxury branding. CADDOxCHIC literally multiplies this conundrum through its graffiti-like rendering of Chanel’s logo on the sculpture, which has a matte surface recalling Caddo pottery.
