About

The Portland Museum of Art offered dynamic, hands-on activities that enabled visitors of all ages to learn more about the art on view and its history. The interactive, family-friendly activities had a special emphasis on textile and fiber arts – a relevant connection to the exhibition and a rarely explored art form in the museum’s traditional programming. These activities were created by local BIPOC artists and included quiltmaking, custom printed fabric design, poetry writing, guided tours, and film screenings.
