Since 2017, Art Bridges has been creating and supporting programs that bring outstanding works of American art out of storage and into communities. Art Bridges partners with a growing network of nearly 220 museums of all sizes and locations to provide financial and strategic support for exhibition development, loans from the Art Bridges collection, and programs designed to educate, inspire, and deepen engagement with local audiences. The Art Bridges Collection represents an expanding vision of American art from the 19th century to present day and encompasses multiple media and voices.

About the position

The Partner Outreach & Engagement Manager is a key position for leading Art Bridges’ national partner growth. This position leads museum engagement efforts by driving and coordinating outreach across the foundation. The Partner Outreach & Engagement Manager proactively contacts museums to introduce our mission and program areas and supports them to become an Art Bridges partner. The Partner Outreach & Engagement Manager will collaborate with Art Bridges colleagues to convert conversations with museums into active programs where partner museums undertake an Art Bridges project, such as an Art Bridges Collection Loan, a Traveling Exhibition (organizer or venue), a Collection Loan Partnership (borrower or lender), an Evaluation Project (COVES), or Cohort Program (lead museum or cohort partner.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the expansion, growth and continuity of Art Bridges’ national partner museum network and Art Bridges programs.
  • Orchestrate and coordinate outreach efforts to potential partner museums, current partner museums, and historic/inactive partner museums across Art Bridges. departments to encourage museums to undertake an Art Bridges program.
  • Work across all Art Bridges departments to assist with follow-up meetings and next steps with potential, current and former partner museums that will lead to confirmed projects.
  • Establish annual goals with leadership for acquiring new partners, renewing historic partners, and maintaining existing partners.
  • Develop strategy for partner growth across museum size (as defined by annual operating budget) and location (as defined by AAM regions).
  • Lead monthly outreach strategy meetings; delegate or execute action items from these meetings.
  • Track progress on outreach and engagement and provide accountability to Art Bridges leadership.
  • Maintain campaigns, data, and reports in “Friday,” Art Bridges Salesforce platform
  • Collaborate with Evaluation team and Data Engineering team to measure impact and progress across time and generate regular reports and materials for Art Bridges board meetings.
  • Collaborate with leadership on opportunities and strategies for:
    • Reaching new partner museums of all sizes in all regions
    • Building relationships with HBCU museums and galleries, tribal museums, and other historically underserved organizations
    • Re-engaging historic/inactive Art Bridges partners to launch new projects
    • Ensuring continuity and engagement with current/active partners
  • Make recommendations for sustainable growth and how to further “meet partners where they are.”
  • Actively participate in convenings and conferences to further expand the partner network. Support planning for Art Bridges staff participation at conferences and other industry events where partner outreach activities can take place.
  • Travel on occasion to meet with partner museums.

Qualifications and skills

Physical demands: Position requires utilizing a computer and telephone for prolonged periods of time, good eye/hand coordination, verbal, and written conversation with others, and lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. Vision abilities required by the job include close vision.

Work environment: Work will be performed in an office environment full-time (Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.) The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Some overnight travel may be necessary.

Vaccination policy

According to the CDC, “fully vaccinated” means it has been two weeks since a person received the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson.

In accordance with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations, Art Bridges recognizes that there may be certain circumstances exempting an employee from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine. Employees in need of an exemption from this policy due to a disability, advice of a medical provider, or religious beliefs inconsistent with vaccination, must contact the HR group at AWE to initiate the interactive review process within the deadlines expressed in this policy.
